Last night, I joined the Minister of Finance Dwight Duncan, and local MPPs Madeleine Meilleur and Phil McNeely for a Virtual Pre-Budget Town Hall.
Minister Duncan has been conducting telephone town halls across Ontario, but with over 12,000 people on the call last night, Ottawa was clearly the most successful pre-budget virtual town hall yet! Thank you to all who participated.
In addition to the call last night, I also hosted a Pre-Budget Consultation on February 26 at the Old Ottawa South Community Centre. Those that could not attend the session on February 26 or last night have been sending their thoughts and suggestions to me over the last month.
We have compiled a report that reflects all the pre-budget feedback we have been receiving, and I am happy to share this report with you. A copy of this report will also be sent to Minister Duncan for his consideration.
The Ontario Budget will be delivered on March 29 at 4 p.m. in the Legislature. Thanks to the amazing participation of our community, I know that Ottawa Centre’s voice was well heard during the pre-budget consultation process!
